Strategic Partners

AAC continues to develop relationships and work with other organizations and associations that share common goals with formal partnership agreements, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) and strategic collaborations to:

    • Seek opportunities to collaborate to further the mutual goals/objectives/mandates to promote the profession;
    • Support and promote awareness and recognition of EHS profession and professionals in Canada;
    • Identify synergies, opportunities and innovative ways we can work together to improve access to and coordination of EHS networking and professional development services; and
    • Promote common understanding of what the community of professionals and their representative organizations have to offer.

Partnership Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs)


ECO Canada 

AAC and ECO Canada have had a partnership agreement since 2003 and work together to promote environmental issues and professionals and co-ordinate on joint projects to promote environmental issues and professionals. One of the primary collaborations is environmental auditor certification, where AAC provides technical expertise to ECO Canada who administers the certification program on behalf of the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board (CECAB). ECO Canada was established in 1992 as part of Canada’s sector council initiative with a solid reputation in the field of human resource management, ECO Canada’s services reach all participants of the environmental sector including employers, practitioners, educators, and students.



CSSE - Canadian Society of Safety Engineers

AAC and the CSSE signed a MOU in 2019. CSSE is a non-profit organization founded in 1949 by a group of dedicated individuals drawn together in the common cause of accident prevention and has grown to be a leading association shaping the safety profession in Canada by working collaboratively with its members and partners.


AOSAA - Alberta Occupational Safety Auditors Association 

AAC and AOSAA signed a MOU in 2019. AOSAA was incorporated as a not-for-profit Association in September 2005. Their mission is to enhance and educate the professional community of safety auditors in the province of Alberta and abroad on topics of importance to safety auditors and regarding health and safety matters relevant to all organizations.
