Saskatchewan's Ministry of Environment is responsible for ensuring Saskatchewan maintains a high level of environmental quality, ensures sustainable development, and provides economic and social benefits for present and future generations. We are seeking a multi-talented individual with strong strategic planning and leadership skills to serve as the Director of the Compliance Audit Branch.

This position will lead the development and implementation of an efficient and effective compliance audit program, setting the standards for auditing (both compliance and enforcement) for the Ministry. As well, you will be a member of the Ministry's Senior Management Committee and will lead a team of core auditors to deliver the audit compliance program within a new results-based regulatory model.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership, analysis, organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. Extensive knowledge of auditing and auditing practice will be critical to the success of this position. Knowledge of current and emerging issues related to environmental management of industrial and municipal operations would be a definite asset.
Typically, the competencies required for this position would be obtained through a degree in Engineering or science, as well as certification as an environmental auditor with a minimum of five years lead auditing experience. Direct experience in a leadership role in a compliance environment related to industry or environmental affairs is preferred. Combinations of equivalent experience and education will be considered for this leadership role.
