As part of our commitment to continual improvement, the AAC Board of Directors recently undertook a review of the processes that govern the way we operate...
Essentially we performed an assessment of our "management system". To establish a framework for the "management system" that reflected the nature of our business, we relied on the ISO management system standards. Members of the Board then evaluated our existing practices against the framework. Opportunities for improvement were identified, prioritized and assigned to individuals. The Board will track the gap closure plans to completion.
One of the areas that was identified dealt with the documentation of our processes. To address this issue, we have established a hierarchy of our governing documents and are in the process of either re-formatting or updating existing documents, or where absent creating new ones.
The establishment of a management system and associated governance will help assure that our requirements and commitments are met, that we can readily demonstrate progress on our goals, that we apply a consistent approach through common understanding, and will greatly assist members assuming new roles and responsibilities.
Once the documents have been issued, they will be posted on the website for reference by members.
