On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Auditing Association of Canada, I am pleased to introduce you to our new Executive Director - Guy Brisebois.
After many months of searching and a lot of hard work by the board members and the Executive Director search committee, our Association has found its new Executive Director. Guy fills the position left by Don Fraser who is "retiring" from the Executive Director role after 6 years of dedicated service to the Association. Don will continue to support the AAC by continuing to sit on certain committees and completing projects that he started during his tenure as AAC Executive Director. Don will also support Guy through a transition period which will last until November 2009.
Guy was born and raised in Montréal, Québec, obtaining a degree in accounting & finance at the Hautes Études Commerciales of Montréal University combined to various courses in marketing and administration.
He worked for an accounting firm for 6 years before moving on to the world of Big Business. After various management positions in very diversified fields ranging from Food Service to Cemetery & Funeral services, he was recruited to become Executive Director of the McGill University Student Society and oversee the rebuilding of their Student Centre and Student Association. Guy was up to the task and created a solid organization with a strong balance sheet and positive cash flow. Following that success, the University of Toronto scooped him up to build and develop their Student Association and one of the most beautiful Student Centres in Canada, of which he is very proud. Additionally, he was president and board member of the AMICUS-C association for a number of years.
Guy brings extensive experience in organization building, his good business sense and financial know-how to the AAC. He senses the tremendous potential that our Association has and was convinced that his association building experience and leadership was what the AAC was looking for in an executive director.
He is a fervent Canadiens fan (how could a Montrealer not be!) and actively plays tennis, and golf. He plans to continue to play hockey, squash and do a little downhill skiing this winter when not working at the AAC office. Working out of Montreal will allow him to stay close to his wife, two daughters (who live and work in the Montreal area) and grand-daughter.
I am very pleased and honoured to welcome him to our organization and invite you all to communicate with him at admin@auditingcanda.com. By November 1st, we will also have transferred our phone number and other contact details to Guy.
Sincerely,
Jean-Pierre Fry P.Eng, CEA, EMS(A)
AAC President
