AAC Executive Director

Don was the founding president of the Auditing Association in the early 1990s. He has been directly involved in one capacity or another throughout the association's life. From 2003 through 2008 Don was the Executive Director and Registrar.

Don has over 40 years of experience in environmental and health and safety risk management and is considered a leading expert globally for risk/control based auditing. He has performed numerous audits ranging from environmental and health and safety compliance, and environmental and health and safety management system audits. Don has assisted numerous organizations develop E,H&S management systems and audit programs including the integration of compliance and management system audit programs.

He chairs the Canadian Advisory Committee sub-committee on Environmental Auditing and Related Investigations which addresses both national and international standards. He also chairs the Auditor Certification Committee, a partnership committee of AAC and ECO-Canada with its representatives supporting CECAB in its environmental auditor certification initiatives.

Don is certified by the Canadian Environmental Certification Approvals Board (CECAB) an organization accredited by the Standards Council of Canada and ISO 17024:2003, He has the certification designation of Environmental Management System Lead Auditor EP (EMS-LA).
